Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian cricket team, becomes a brand ambassador for PUMA

As a company that goes above and beyond to promote sports, it should come as no surprise that Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian women's cricket team and a player of the highest calibre, has been named PUMA India's new ambassador. A generation of female athletes look up to the Arjuna award recipient today, but getting there wasn't simple. And the PUMA campaign to introduce her helped bring this basic truth into the public's awareness.

The majority of women in Indian society find it difficult to pursue sports. The lack of surprise in the nonchalance stems from factors like lack of support from one's own family and occasionally a lack of resources (as opposed to lack of motivation). PUMA launched a social experiment to demonstrate this disparity and the unfair treatment given to female athletes. The results are shocking and show just how far our society still has to go. Let's begin straight away!

The brand teased fans with a video in the days before the unveiling, asking them to guess the newest name to join its star-studded family. There was more to it, though! Every criticism posted on PUMA's social media platforms and reviews gathered at its retail locations were tracked.

Then, in a move that will be remembered as a game-changer, PUMA named Harmanpreet Kaur as its newest brand ambassador, advancing the cause of female athletes.

Harmanpreet is a fantastic fit for the PUMA family as the company is founded on the principle of promoting sports culture, and her physical talent, natural confidence, and dedication to her craft only serve to further this. Harmanpreet and PUMA both support equality and inclusivity in athletics as core principles.

"Not many people are aware that I scored my first ODI century in 2013 while wearing a pair of PUMA boots that the company gave me as a sign of support during my formative years. For exactly ten years, I have served as the face of PUMA. Harmanpreet expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration. "It's encouraging to see a company like PUMA support the development of Indian women's cricket; it's essential for advancing the cause. This is only the beginning, but I have no doubt that our association will inspire many women who want to pursue careers in cricket.

PUMA India has brought attention to the fact that sports are not only accessible to all people but also serve as a potent vehicle for female athletes to advance their careers. Each magnificent trophy a female athlete hoists serves to amplify the energy and fortitude of womanhood. In what was formerly only referred to as a "gentleman's game," Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian cricket captain, is changing the sport, and we can't wait to see more of her.

What is Beauty by Chat GPT

Beauty is more than just skin deep. It's an expression of who we are, and it comes in many forms. From the way we style our hair to the makeup we wear, beauty is a personal choice that can help us feel confident and empowered. But what does beauty really mean, and how can we embrace it in our everyday lives? Here are some thoughts on beauty and how to cultivate it in ourselves and others.

Beauty is subjective: What one person finds beautiful, another may not. There's no one-size-fits-all definition of beauty, and that's what makes it so interesting and diverse. Instead of trying to conform to someone else's idea of what's beautiful, focus on what makes you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.

Beauty is more than skin deep: While makeup and fashion can help enhance our appearance, true beauty comes from within. It's about being kind, compassionate, and confident, and radiating those qualities to others. Take care of your physical health, but also prioritize your mental and emotional well-being.

Sunscreen Myths and Facts Everything You Need to Know

Introduction

Sunscreen is one of the most recommended skincare essentials by dermatologists worldwide, yet it is also one of the most misunderstood. From confusing SPF numbers to myths about needing sunscreen only on sunny days, there’s a lot of misinformation circulating online and offline. Once you understand what sunscreen really does, it’s easier to protect your skin, keep that fresh, healthy look, prevent sunburn, and lower the chances of skin cancer.

This guide takes the mystery out of sunscreen. We’ll clear up common myths, share the real facts, and show you how to pick and use sunscreen with confidence — whether you’re a skincare pro or just starting to take sun protection seriously.

Why Sunscreen Matters

Sunscreen acts as a shield that helps block or absorb the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. UV rays come in two main forms:

UVA rays: These penetrate deeply into the skin and are largely responsible for premature aging, wrinkles, and skin damage.

UVB rays: These cause sunburn and play the biggest role in the development of skin cancers.

By using sunscreen every day, you’re guarding your skin against harmful UVA and UVB rays — a small habit that plays a big role in long-term skin health.

Common Myths About Sunscreen (and the Facts Behind Them)

Myth 1: You Only Need Sunscreen on Sunny Days

Fact: UV rays can penetrate clouds, windows, and even clothing. Up to 80% of UV rays reach the earth’s surface on cloudy days, which means your skin is still exposed even when the weather looks gloomy. Wearing sunscreen daily—rain or shine—ensures consistent protection.

Myth 2: Darker Skin Doesn’t Need Sunscreen

Fact: While higher melanin levels in darker skin provide some natural protection, they don’t make anyone immune to UV damage. Darker skin tones can still develop hyperpigmentation, premature aging, and skin cancer. Everyone, regardless of skin tone, benefits from wearing sunscreen.

Myth 3: Higher SPF Equals Unlimited Protection

Fact: SPF (Sun Protection Factor) measures how well a sunscreen protects against UVB rays, but higher isn’t always dramatically better.

  1. SPF 30 blocks about 97% of UVB rays.
  2. SPF 50 blocks about 98%.
  3. SPF 100 blocks about 99%.

No sunscreen blocks 100% of UV rays, and higher SPF doesn’t mean you can stay in the sun longer without reapplying. Reapplication every two hours (or after swimming/sweating) is key.

Myth 4: Makeup With SPF Is Enough

Fact: Foundation or BB cream containing SPF usually provides less protection than advertised because most people don’t apply enough. To get the SPF listed, you’d need to apply a much thicker layer than typical makeup use allows. Always apply a dedicated sunscreen underneath your makeup for full protection.

Myth 5: Sunscreen Causes Vitamin D Deficiency

Fact: Studies show that normal sunscreen use has minimal impact on vitamin D levels. Your body needs very little sun exposure to produce vitamin D, and incidental sun exposure from daily activities usually suffices. Plus, vitamin D can also be obtained through diet and supplements. Protecting your skin should take priority.
